Fantastic!
Megan, as a longtime fan of your blog -- I was reading you when you were still at the WTC -- I'm glad to see you've obviously found a nice niche. Congratulations, and I look forward to reading you for a long time to come.
How... unexpected.
Hooray!
Congratulations! The Atlantic Monthly's blog lineup just keeps getting better. They're really making a strong play for the blogosphere, aren't they....
Glad to see you're keeping the green.
YEAY!!!!!!!
Will we have one "goodbye cruel world" post on the old blog before it goes the way of the dodo?
Welcome to the Atlantic and DC! Now that you're in my backyard, I'm going to make a concerted effort to start commenting. I'm looking forward to lots of good stuff.
Wow. Just wow. As another Live from the WTC reader, just wow.
Does this mean that you'll also be writing for the Atlantic?
Very classy look. Good luck with the new gig.
Mazeltov! And I got some of those spice dispensy things for our new place. Very nice! - R K from GSB
I see my last comment never got approved. Is stifling dissent libertarian?
Full RSS feeds?
Will this blog have full RSS feeds for those of us living in developing countries with limited network access? Fa'amolemole...
That is fantastic, Megan!
By the way, what colour was the loo that you were in quene for the other day?
She's a hack extraordanaire... the type of MBA who thinks because they can find the Nash Equilibrium in a two-by-two prisoners' dilemma they've uncovered the secrets of non-cooperative game theory. I wonder whether someone will mention her post about taking a 2-by-4 to war protesters.
She and Douthat can tag team for free-market Christianism.
Congratulations. You are a great, smart writer who will make a great addition to The Atlantic.
Good to see you're on the right side of The Atlantic, Janey.
Congrats, Megan. A more deserving person would be rare to come by.
But I'll still think of you as Jane Galt.
JKC - Mine never did, either. Way to go ATLANTIC! You've picked a real winner with this one.
Congratulations!
I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of the Atlantic before now. It's rather good, isn't it!
Please keeping spelling normal, makes it so much easier for me to read :)
>Is stifling dissent libertarian?
Only if it's done by a private actor.
Pitiful (on my part) - I just put two and two together re the rest of The Atlantic's blog team.
I'll attribute that to old schoolism - or the onset of senility - since I go pretty far back with both Mr. Sullivan and Ms. McArdle and still think of them (it appears) in their earliest blog incarnations.
My boneheadedness aside, nice site, nice look and nice move.
Congratulations on the changes and enjoy DC. Don't forget to eat at Clyde's.
Cheers,
Congratulations, Megan! I hope you'll keep some semblage of the Jane Galt moniker/image. It's so YOU! The Atlantic is lucky, and smart, to have you. Best of luck in your new home.
Yay! Thirteenth!
...um, well, yeah. In any case, congratulations!
I know this expanded opportunity will make for continued enjoyable reading on a daily basis. Can't wait for the first posts.
Congratulations, Jane Galt, on becoming the First Lady of The Atlantic's Old Boys Blogger Club. When breaking through the (virtual) glass ceiling, I suppose it helps to be freakishly tall. Attagirl!

My God, they let anybody comment here, don't they?
Hey, I subscribe both to the Economist and the Atlantic. It's like my girlfriend became my sister. I'm...conflicted.
Good score, Atlantic. I've been here since LftWTC.
Another reason not to read the Atlantic.
I won't be back.
Wow, maybe a slice of glibertarian cheesecake like the Big Ethel-esque Ms. Galt can cure Andy Sullivan of teh Gay.
Otherwise, I can think of no good reason to add McCurdled to the Atlantic roster, other than for unintentional comedy.

Apparently.
There are lightweights. There are lighter-than-helium-balloon lightweights, and then there is Megan McArdle. This is the person who criticized the second Lancet study on Iraq civilian deaths while clearly not having a clue about the mathematics involved. Indeed, my suspicion is that she pronounced an opinion on the article without even reading it. Either way, this is an absurd low point for a publication that always impressed me with its research and thoughtfulness even when I did not always agree with it.
