Roy Edroso's commenters are accusing me of blocking the link to my piece on the morality of health care transfers. I'm not even sure that's actually possible, but assuming it is, I'm not doing it. Nor would I, since it seems cowardly, wrong, and also a complete waste of time, given that anyone who wants to read the thing can find it on my front page.

What's happening is that the permissions on my individual archive pages are rather tight. This was not done by me, but by my host, who says it is necessary to prevent comment spam. As a result, frequently when you try to click on a link to one of my posts, you get a message that says "Verboten!" I get it all the time, regardless of where I come from, or what the content is . . . my mac and cheese recipe is every bit as top secret as my opinions on intergenerational transfers.

This shouldn't be a problem here, and if you want to follow a link to the old site, and you get the verboten message, all you need to do is hit refresh. That always takes me to the page I was looking for.

Yes. Because, you know, the salient point is the broken links, not your repugnant views on illness.

ps Actually on second thought that's a bit unfair, you were challenged and responded reasonably.

Your views on sickness are still utterly cruel, of course. But credit where it's due.

Man, what an awful post that was.

The reason why the old are sick is by and large not that they didn't exercise. It is that THEY ARE OLD. You may be unaware of this, but age is a condition which ultimately leads to ill health in 100% of cases.

Then there's your bizarre confusion around not understanding Ezra Klein's point about younger people buying cheaper, lower-cost insurance than older people -- you say "this isn't about insurance, it's about a tax", which is completely incoherent. It's about Giuliani's proposed tax break for purchasing health insurance. Hence it is about both taxes and insurance. Take out the insurance part of the equation and you lose the ability to talk meaningfully about who is spending money on what.

Anyway. Just lending more evidential weight to the sense that libertarians are generally people who have trouble understanding complex phenomena.

Of course it's technically possible to redirect or block a link. Joshua Trevino and LGF do it regularly.
