I see that someone has made a movie about the 1857 Mormon massacre of settlers on their way to California. How long before someone, somewhere, decides that this is an attempt by liberal-controlled Hollywood to derail Mitt Romney's campaign?

The working title was Fahrenheit 1857...
Given that filming on the movie began two years ago and well before Romney declared, and given that the decision to greenlight the film was made well before the filming began, and given that it generally takes a producer at least a year to obtain funding to get a film financed (especially one without big name stars, as this one is), it doesn't appear likely that any intelligent person will suggest any such thing.
But it's nice of you to bring it up. I take it there was nothing in the paper this morning?
It's already happened.

Well, we are talking about Michael Medved, after all. The qualification was any intelligent person.
And he does admit that it couldn't have been premeditated, although he nonetheless takes it as a convenient shot at Mitt. He's more enraged by Hollywood's assertive Islamofascism; as always, Michael has his eye on the prize.

Given that Mitt's intention to run has been well known for several years, and given that the conservative/yahoo blogosphere is largely composed of insane nitwits, it's no surprise that it has already come up, and it will be no surprise when it comes up again and again.
Here is what one member in good standing of the "Hollywood liberal elite" thinks of the film:

I'm thinking that if it is as bad as Ebert says it will actually help old Mitt, if it is that over the top people will be inclined to think Mormon's are being persecuted.
