A clarification

26 Oct 2007 08:52 am

My reference to the "exotic wilds of Upstate New York" was tongue in cheek; I'm actually staying in my mother's hometown. Indeed, right now I'm in the front room of what was once my grandmother's house, and now belongs to my Aunt Annie. I do not think y'all are hicks, and if I did, I sure wouldn't say it within 250 miles of Aunt Annie.

Thanks for the invites and the advice on tourist spots, but this is a flying tour. However, I'll be back up at Christmas if there's any interest in a Rochester or Syracuse AI reader meetup (I'm in between the two).

I could make either location fairly conveniently. Of course, my holiday schedule might not be conducive to such a meeting.

I didn't know people voluntarily travelled to this wilderness area. It's got its advantages, like a 15 minute long rush hour. If you show up soon, you might beat the snow. Just kidding, the weather has been exceptional.

Being a highly paid person of influence and all that, is there anything you can do about the outrageous air fares out of Syracuse?

Living in a more out-of-the-way spot, we travel to Syracuse for cheaper fares than our own airport!

Sadly, at Christmas I will be away - and then off to Roma Felix for the term. Oh, well!

But if the flight jitters have settled down, you could head south for a drink....

Of course there is interest (my own ability to attend would, of course, depend on time and location, but I would definitely check).

It should be safe to that HERE, unlike on my own blog:

Sorry...s/safe to that/safe to ADMIT to that/

My mind was at the wrong "to"
