If I moderate your comment, I will, without exception, leave a note in its place explaining why. This is how I avoid the temptation to "disappear" good questions, as unfortunately happens on some blogs. If you didn't get a note, and your comments has not appeared, it's because I never saw it.
Though it would take too much trouble to test, I think it automatically grabs any comment with two or more links in it.

I believe Megan. The only comment issues I've experienced consistently are at DeLong's site. My comments are initially accepted, but then gone within an hour or so.
I think I need to stop referring to Carter's economic record, and Reagan's--those things always seem to get censored.

Totally OT, a poster on one of the threads below mentioned that one of government's legitimate functions was to ensure enforcement of contracts. I seem to remember from my reading of Uncle Milty that another was to ensure property rights, via both police powers and a legal system. So a question for the libertarians, if this indeed is one of government's legitimate functions, is it equally legitimate if property rights are defined as "what's mine is mine" versus if they are defined as "everybody should have the same amount of property"?

The government defines property rights, but once it defines them it relinquishes the right to control the material object of the property right further to the owner of the property. The government may a free hand in defining how property that is new to the system (ex newly discovered land) is allocated (depends on who you ask) and can clarify ambiguities in how the rights have been allocated, but cannot reverse the allocations it has already made since it relinquished the right to allocate the property to the owner when the allocation was made. In the second scenario, possessions (the distinction made in political philosophy between possession (de facto control of a thing) and property (a right to control a thing that is recognized by the legal system) is important) could be allocated in such a way, but those possessions would not consistitute property, just as a tenant of an appartment does not have property in the appartment itself despite having a right to use it.
