Seriously Megan, normally I love your writing (even when I disagree with you), but I think you've let the more vocal and annoying Paul supporters goad you into a relatively more juvenile method of addressing the issue of fiat currency and central banking. Paul's public statements are obviously dumbed down, and most of his supporters (and opponents) don't understand the issues all that well either.
But I have yet to see you respond to any of the deeper criticisms of central banking or merits of free banking. (Including, for example, ramifications of the important distinction between price-level inflation and money supply inflation, even taking the naive view that there is no intentional manipulation of the CPI).
All I've seen so far is the same old first-year mainstream macro line - which is grossly biased towards central banking.
I'd write more on the actual issues, but I get the impression that you have taken to the beltway mentality in this regard, sitting back with the 'intellectual elites and laughing at the 'ignorant hayseeds'. I'll admit that many of the Paul supporters invite this, and would better serve Paul's cause by shutting the hell up, but it is still sad to see your treatment of the issue.
