"In general, I try to assume that when someone does something professionally, they have some passing familiarity with the subject. This prevents me from looking like an utter fool when I triumphantly catch, say, a science journalist in some "error" that turns out to be my own misunderstanding."
"looking like an utter fool when I triumphantly catch"
well done, MM, well done..
Funny, I think John had a few too many to drink. Although I think its telling that the Apple Guy can only explain anti-Paul by citing other Republicans we all hate.
It's John Mayer, not John Meyer.
I'm not a Ron Paulite but at least please spell people's names correctly.
I have mixed feelings about Mayer. I think he's one of the most talented guitarists (and accomplished musical mimics) to come along in a long time. But he performs treacly music and appears to be very naive.
Waiting for the World to Change counts as both treacly and...the most apathetic of teeny-bopper anthems. Ah well, talent comes in strange packaging.
Yeah, Waiting for the World to Change does sound like Ron Paul song now that I think about it.
Wow, who knew that "Waiting on the World to Change" was a call for cutting taxes, eliminating government programs and a border crackdown? There's nothing in the song to suggest otherwise, but it somehow seems odd.
It would have been a lot funnier if it had been the PC guy arguing with the Apple Guy. "F$%* you! The gold standard is to monetary systems what Vista is to operating systems, you Starbucks-slurping, indie-listening slacker!"
He's right. The Personal Healing Amendment is the most important part of the Constitution.
And am I alone in thinking that our democracy would be much more healthy if at least one major presidential debate took this format? It wouldn't be any sillier than that youtube one.
Needs 100% more kicking the apple guy in the nuts.
Who was the African-American guy in the middle of it all? He looked extremely familiar.
Never mind; it was apparently "Best Week Ever" regular Sherrod Small.
Yet more proof that most, if not all of Paul's support comes from his anti-war stance. As Floyd pointed out, I doubt Mayer is all about getting rid of the Department of Education, etc.
He's also the guy from Live Free or Die Harder...
