How will I learn of new diseases with which to self-diagnose?
pubmed.org works wonders for all my hypocondriatic needs. It's a bit technical though, but very very up to date.
Alternatively, you could befriend some medical student. No one has more exotic diseases than a first-year medical student with a cold.
Next time you get a runny nose, it might be the first symptom of Lethal Midline Granuloma. That is a disease which causes one's face to rot away and invariably leads to a hideous death in agony. There is no cure.
