Wow, I would have thought this would provoke more discussion. Reich is generally more despised than Krugman by conservatives, though I think it is a deeper and narrower despising.
I agree with the economics of it, too. A caveat would be in the geopolitical sphere. If we manage to pressure China into alterring its currency it may very well hurt our balance of trade, but it might hurt theirs worse. From a China-as-the-new-USSR standpoint, that could be perceived as good.
