Look at it from the other side: the fat cats at Bear Sterns who are known to make salaries well above what the street's already rich scales pay are now on the street.
How are they going to make their payments on their $10 jumbo mortgages? Or pay the nanny, the $50,000 a year private school per kid, or .... Why, some of them might have to cut back... and lay off the gardener.
My heart bleeds.
Does anyone else feel like Megan has too many posts? I feel like I have work to do every time I check my RSS. Reading the blog is no longer a pleasure but I don't want to delete it less I miss some valuable insight.

I could care less about the Bear Stearns SCA's, but I DO care about their gardeners.
ARod had a better year
My favorite is here:
You know the reason they did it this way was because, if Bear Stearns had to declare bankruptcy, you'd realize that Bear Stearns paid out billions of dollars in bonuses in January - six weeks ago. If he let them go into bankruptcy, they all would have had to send back their bonuses.
This is what they're doing, they're doing it so they don't have to give back their bonuses. That's why they didn't put them into bankruptcy. Jamie Dimon has gotten a great deal because the Federal Reserve is paying for it. The Federal Reserve is using taxpayer money to buy a bunch of Bear Stearns traders' Mazeratis.
"The Federal Reserve is using taxpayer money.."
every holder of FedRes Notes and/or Paper denominated in FedRes Notes is being stolen from, it is, yet again, the classic risk of Fiat Currencies...
And, if peep are still wondering why Prices of Things (Wheat, Oil, Silver, etc.) are going up, it's because the value of the Denominator (here, FedRes Notes) is going down..
"The Federal Reserve is using taxpayer money.."
''taxpayer' money' is the Only, major, Reserve to be found within the FedRes Schema..
Once one gets past the aspects of Constructive Fraud, it's an Ingenious play..
I think it would be funnier if you weren't (and presumably he wasn't) an economist. Current present value and such.
What Gene said.
Even Barry Bonds had a better year.
