Mississippi: Obama in a walk

As expected. Not even worth liveblogging.

As your colleague Amblinders so presceintly noted yesterday, "It ain't easy running as a "black" man named Barack Hussein Obama". Especially in those southern states right after the race issue has been raised in the press. South Carolina showed that to be fact, now Mississipi has underlined it in BOLD. Poor guy.

The key is whether the Democratic party will repudiate Hillary Clinton for the racist tactics of her campaign.

I fear that Senator Obama not only faces the race card being used against him by the Clintons, but that the Press is not addressing a serious issue regarding the so-called popular national vote. The latter is a combination of the votes in caucus states and in primary states. But combining them is like combining apples and oranges. Voters in caucus states will always be underrepresented in this system because far fewer people vote in caucuses.

Now suppose that Obama has a significant lead in (elected) delegates at the convention. It's possible that if Florida and Michigan vote, Clinton might end up with a small lead in the popular vote, but the latter is virtually meaningless given that the Democratic Party supports caucuses (and Obama has won all but one of them). No one warned voters that caucuses might be hazardous to their representation.

Presumably, robert ethan, you mean the same Ambinder from whose board you are about to be banned for racism and slander?
