« My goodness | Main | Eliot Spitzer resigns »

The vacuity of cable news, part 937

12 Mar 2008 11:39 am

The anchor is narrating the progress of Eliot Spitzer towards the press conference where he is expected to resign. As in "he's left his apartment" . . . "he's in the building" . . . "he's making his way up the stairs" . . . no mention yet as to whether he's carrying a Starbucks latte or a can of diet coke. But there are rumors that the governor may have chosen Polo over bay rum.

Of course, this undoubtedly says something about me for watching it.

Video didn't kill the radio star, it simply made him look stupid for giving a play-by-play narrative of a sequence that the audience can also see.

Are politicians doing product placement ads? In this instance, would Pepsi be paying him to carry a Diet Coke?

You are FINALLY beginning to figure it out!!!!! There is absolutely no reason to watch any of those channels, nor listen to any of the complete fools (on either side of the supposed debates) that they throw at you. There is NO difference between Olberman and Hannity; and are you really interested in what time Elliott Spitzer brushes his teeth and walks out of his house?
I thought you were smarter than that....

This reminds me of Homer Simpson's "It takes two to lie, Marge. One to lie and one to listen."
