Listening to Hillary's speech, and was feeling sorry for her until she complained about sexism. Even if it's true, Obama ran a very strong campaign, and it's churlish to say that he just got it because he was a man, especially when he has his own considerable barrier of prejudice to overcome. Meanwhile, the long awaited Democratic Primary Memorial Mixtape.
Queen - We Will Rock You
Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Big Girls Don't Cry
Julie Andrews - I Feel Pretty
James Taylor - Carolina In My Mind
Radiohead - Electioneering
Ethel Merman - Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)
The White Stripes - Black Math
Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass
Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks - How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
Queen - We Are The Champions
Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder - Ebony And Ivory

Bravo on using Muxtape. A little heavy on the Queen (adding the same artist twice is a cardinal sin in mixing).
Me likey.
Although it occurs in retrospect, there's got to be a song title somewhere that makes suitable use of the phrase, "Over the Hill".
Did she say that? I think I missed it. I mean, I heard her "complaining about sexism," but, in so doing, she wasn't necessarily implying that the only reason he won was because he's a man, and in fact I didn't get that insinuation from her tone, either. I do think that she was taking the opportunity of the concession/endorsement speech to highlight the historic nature of her campaign more passionately and less obliquely than she has — mentioning the suffragists and the glass ceiling and all — but I didn't get that that was at Obama's expense. And she likened the unusual nature of her candidacy to his and applauded both consistently, especially toward the end of the speech, saying, I've proven that a woman can be a presidential candidate; he's done the same for african-americans, so, yeah, I just didn't hear churlishness so much.
Given the biological characteristics of the candidates, I should have suggested 'Ask DNA' by The Seatbelts.
She did not say "he just got it because he was a man", nor did she imply that.
A little late, but I would suggest, for Mr. Obama, "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Does it ever get to be about Obama? This is a darker day than it needed to be. What shines through is his humility.
I personally would have gone with "I Feel Love" by Venus Hum. Particularly the Blue Man Group version.
But that's just me.
I think Cult of Personality would have been appropriate for both of them.
Nice job on the mix!
Mike:
Yup, he himself reminded us of his profound humility. What's more profound than that?
"99 Problems" by Jay-Z is still the funniest thing anyone suggested.
How can you forget Neil Young's Campaigner? It's has one of the classic lines of all time. "Even Richard Nixon's got soul.."
Don't forget: Hilary "Found her voice" by discovering, after 60 years, that she is a woman, and although she has done just fine, a lot of other women have not. And why should anyone expect any scintilla of class from a Clinton at this late date?
The essence of good sportmanship is modest and gracious in victory, magnanimous in defeat. No crowing or gloating in the former instance, no whining or shifting blame in the latter.
God, I'm getting old.

Young Marble Giants-Searching For Mr. Right
Wire-Two People In A Room

"A little late, but I would suggest, for Mr. Obama, "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour."
Yes, I agree!!! I've seriously been thinking about "Cult of Personality" and Obama for months now.
I can easily imagine a sound clip of Obama stating, "We are the change we've been looking for" during that song.
Apparently, the youtube "cult of personality" video has already been made:

How about the Mockingbird Song from Dumb and Dumber? The movie's title could have doubled as a title for the Democratic Primary, so there you go...

Scot:
More like the brain-dead Republicans.
I am literally near weeping that I didn't think earlier to suggest "Evil Woman" by ELO.
"Will anyone born after 1990 even know what a mixtape is?"
TR: There are nostalgia shows set in the 1980s, and also shows that reference the '80s, that young people seem to watch. "Robot Chicken" makes plenty of '80s references.
Plus I do hear teens talk of "Mixed CDs" so I think they might be able to figure out "Mixed Tape" in context.
I still see many teens fulfilling the grand tradition of driving 15-20yo cars, particularly low-end and midrange models that didn't have premium factory sound systems, so I'm fairly certain many of those teens have a tape deck or saw what one looked like just before the head unit upgrade.
Why is there 9 songs between "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions?" Those songs are almost always played together. Trying to be different, are ya?
Unless you've excluded show tunes (which I would totally get) I think "A Wonderful Guy" is perfect -- with Mitzi Gaynor in the role of Megan McArdle.
