An old piece by Malcolm Gladwell on the Jedi Master himself, Ron Popeil.

I need a Showtime Rotisserie. I want to "set it and forget it."

Can't beat a double dose of hucksterism.

Meghan,

We need a post on the USAirways A320 that crashed into the Hudson River.

The plane didn't break up, all passenger were rescued, and as we speak the plane is sinking.

It looked like something off the seatback safety briefing card!!

I'm not sure that's entirely fair. Ron Popeil's products, from what I've heard from people who own them, actually work pretty much as advertised. I know his rotisserie oven received pretty high marks from consumer magazines too.

The rotisserie gets pretty good reviews on Amazon.

Obama is selling a pretty good product too.
